4 Reasons Why Men Should Get Varicose Vein Treatment.

Yes, we are talking to you!  While the discussion of varicose veins with men is often a conversation that keeps your attention until the notion of compression stockings gets involved and your eyes begin to glaze over, the truth is that your varicose veins should not be ignored. Here’s four important reasons why:

  1. Varicose veins are not just a Cosmetic Issue.  Although varicose veins are not always the most ascetically appealing, varicose vein disease is an actual disease primarily caused by your family genetics, just like male pattern baldness.  In fact, nearly 25% of all men in the U.S. have some form of vein disease. However, varicose vein disease can occur even if there are no obvious physical signs. So why is this important? Well, keep reading.

  2. Varicose Veins only get Worse. That’s right, if left untreated your vein disease will continue to get worse and may actually complicate or exacerbate some other serious health conditions, like congestive heart failure, neuropathy, blood clots, open non-healing wounds and ulcerations, and may even prohibit proper recovery from common knee and hip replacement surgeries.

  3. Varicose Veins may keep you up at Night.  In addition to the serious health concerns mentioned above, your venous disease may be keeping you awake at night as Restless Leg Syndrome is often associated with un-treated varicose veins.  Not to mention the other associated symptoms, like tired, heavy legs, or leg swelling, leg cramps, or even scaly itchy rashes or hardening of the skin.

  4. Vein Treatment is Easy.  Fortunately, with modern technological advancements, varicose vein treatment is a relatively easy out-patient procedure. More importantly, unlike male pattern baldness treatments that either require daily maintenance, or painful surgical procedures, vein treatment is minimally invasive, takes less than an hour, plus once it’s treated its gone for good!  As an added bonus, vein procedures are often covered by insurance as they are considered medical in nature (again, proof that this is a real disease!).
