Suffering from Restless Legs?

Suffering from Restless Legs?

Posted on August 24, 2015 by Dr. Stephen Rivard

After a hard day of work, many of us get into bed with the feeling of absolute exhaustion. We tend to ignore the signs our body is giving us and rule it down to over-doing and over-activity. Restless legs syndrome is a common occurrence among many people, especially at the end of the day. RLS can occur in a variety of forms, and can be easily recognized by identifying the symptoms.

According to the American College of Phlebology, you can diagnose whether you have RLS, ‘based on your clinical symptoms:

  • An urge to move your legs
  • Unpleasant sensations in the legs
  • Symptoms that occur at night, or when your legs aren't moving
  • Symptoms that diminish when you begin to move your legs or walk

If you feel as though you may have RLS, take action to acknowledge your symptoms, keeping in mind movement, and rest to ensure that RLS eases with time.
