Before we can begin vein treatment, an initial consultation is necessary to determine the best treatment plan for each patient. At Illinois Vein Specialists, we review your medical or clinical history and perform a thorough examination of your veins using an ultrasound. The initial consultation helps us understand the scope of treatment and also work out the insurance coverage process.

As everyone’s vein disease differs in terms of severity, we are able to tell through using the ultrasound where the affected veins are located in the leg and exactly which veins will require treatment. The accuracy of the ultrasound in detecting the problematic veins makes recurrence rates very low.

Perhaps the most important part of the consultation is the one-on-one time with the doctor and our staff, which is a chance for us to hear firsthand your expectations for treatment and answering any questions. This way we can make the treatment process as individualized as possible in order to get the best results. We also discuss ways to alleviate any pain or discomfort in the meantime. As a lot of the symptoms associated with vein disease can go undetected we like our patients to understand the full scope of the disease and what exactly needs to be done.

Whether treatment is medical and cosmetic in nature, vein disease is a real disease and can require more than one procedure before it is completely gone. The initial consultation helps us figure out what works best for you and how many procedures are necessary to determine the best results. We love our patients and always deliver our best service that meets the patient's needs and expectations that are set during our initial consultation.
