Why now is the best time to get your varicose veins treated.

Posted on November 8, 2016 by Dr. Stephen Rivard

We've all seen them, the large protruding snake like figures covering the surface of many legs across the US. Varicose veins are a serious medical condition affecting nearly half the population, with symptoms of swelling, discomfort, achy tired legs to name a few. While varicose veins should be treated regardless of having any pain or discomfort, there is no better time to do so then right now.

What many patients do not always understand about treatment is that due to medical insurance regulations and compliance, physicians must submit any treatment plan for varicose vein disease. Approval of these plans for treatment can take a few weeks. Additionally, while patients respond positively to modern day effective treatment techniques of varicose vein disease – as the healing process starts immediately – it does take the body some time to completely absorb the treated veins.

Therefore, it is encouraged for patients wanting to take advantage of having great-looking legs during the warmer seasons, to seek treatment a few months prior to that time. Additionally, because varicose vein disease is recognized as a medically treated disease – and therefore covered by insurance – patients can also take advantage, after meeting their deductibles, of having more of the treatment costs covered by their insurance carriers before the end of the year.

Don't suffer needlessly, if you or a love one has varicose veins, seek the attention of a certified vein specialist today.
